The Red House, an old slate-roofed, stonewalled stable block has a fresh, contemporary design and a warm, comfortable Moroccan feel.
Inside, the high, open-plan feel takes your breath away. There is a roomy hall area with plenty of space for shoes and coats and the main living room and kitchen face south and overlook the garden to the river.
At meal times you can sit around a beautiful oak table in the kitchen or relax in the living room which has comfortable sofas arranged around a wood-burning stove.
The handmade oak kitchen has all the equipment you would expect to find including; a fridge-freezer, cooker and oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.
Up the stairs (which are steep and so not recommended for very young children) there is a double bedroom overlooking the courtyard. Downstairs there is a further bedroom with two large bunk beds. There is also a gallery room overlooking the living room, this makes an ideal 'hideaway' with two single futon beds. It is reached by a drop-down loft staircase; an adventurous way to go to bed but not recommended for very young children!
There is also a comfortable double sofa-bed in the living room which can be used instead of the gallery room.
The house has a fabulous shower room with a large mosaic-tiled shower area and two shower heads, including a massage jet.
If you come when it is a bit cooler you will find the underfloor central heating very special, it gives a lovely even heat over the exposed floor.
There is a large south-facing terrace at the front of the house for barbecues and meals al fresco which is sheltered by a Cornish stonewall and overlooks the large garden where there is an orchard gate leading to the meadow. The garden is bordered by mature trees and has glimpses down to the river.
